Q.  Are you a licensed private investigator?

A.  I am licensed by the State of Texas-thru the Department of Public Safety-Private Security Division. License # A-18683.

Q.  What types of things are professional private investigators not allowed to do?

A.  We are not allowed to do investigations that would cause us to break the law or that are unethical to the situation, client and/or our profession.

Q.  Will the person I am investigating find out or be notified?

A.  No. Unless they catch us on surveillance and our identity is compromised, but even then we will not tell them who we work for. Usually we will not even have a conversation with them.

Q.  Can you GPS someone for me?

A.  Only if you have your name on the title of the vehicle to be tracked. Privacy is the issue; without your name on the title it becomes an Invasion of Privacy and against the law.

Q.  Can you tell if someone is bugging or tracking my phone?

A.  There are ways too tell if your phone is being tracked. Some are app's that have been put on the phone, on some other phones a locator can be activated and then some can be found be a computer analyst.

Q.  How do I know what paperwork I need to bring?

A.  Most investigators have a complimentary visit; they agree to meet with the client. When the call, E-mail or text comes from the potential client they inform them of the information the client needs to bring or have available for that meeting.

Q.  Will my company know if you help me with an investigation?

A.  Not usually, but again it depends on the investigation that is being performed. Under normal circumstances they will not know that we are investigating them for a client.

Q.  Are you insured as a private investigator?

A.  In Texas as a licensed investigator or investigative firm we are required to be insured. It is a part of our licensing process. It most be kept up-to-date and in force anytime we are investigating anything.

Q.  Do you have a contract or agreement form?

A.  We do have a contract or agreement that we have all of our clients read, fill out and sign. This protects the client, the investigative firm and the investigator. It usually spells out what the client can expect from the firm and/or the investigator; and what the investigator can expect from the client.
